The popularity of our Versace II banana leaf wallcovering is spreading across the Tasman Sea, and is now covering the cafes of Auckland. The recent installation of it in the popular Planet Espresso cafe really showcases its ability to liven up a space. The design, called GIUNGLA (Italian for Jungle), is from the House of Versace brand. It showcases lush, subtropical plants on a neutral background with a subtle metallic hints. It is printed on a high-quality vinyl substrate, meaning it is washable, scrubbable and impact resistant, making it perfect for high-traffic areas like hotels and restaurants.
The demand for this jungle wallcovering design is a true reflection of the rise of the Miami/Cuban style as well as the interesting trend of 'greenery' in interior design for 2017. Named as Colour of the Year by Pantone, the Pantone Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, explains her thoughts on the incredible demand for green and foliage themes in interior design this year, "Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose - it provides us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment". Whether you agree with this or not, it's hard to argue that these popular jungle prints add much needed life to interiors.
