Heritage charm, modern confidence: inside Little Street Design’s character-filled 2025 renovation
Some homes tell their own story the moment you walk through the door. This one, lovingly brought to life by Jonathon and Leah of Little Street Design, is a beautiful example. The renovation embraces its heritage roots while introducing a bold, modern spirit through thoughtful layering, confident pattern and a gentle botanical narrative anchored by our Tropical Dream Moorea wallpaper.
We spoke with the Little Street Design team about their vision, the beauty of mixing eras and textures, and why honouring a home’s history does not have to mean holding back on personality.

What was the vibe behind this renovation and how did you bring it to life?
Jonathon & Leah: This project was actually our own. A home we were taking to market, so the brief came straight from us. We are drawn to homes with heritage character and wanted to celebrate those features rather than dilute them.
The goal was to merge old world charm with a confident, modern aesthetic. We leaned into bold pattern, considered colour and spaces that feel layered rather than overly neutral. The original architecture set the mood, then we elevated it with contemporary elements that still felt respectful to the era.

You mixed stunning textures and finishes throughout. What advice do you have for renovators who want to be brave yet cohesive?
Jonathon & Leah: Be bold, but give everything a common thread. It could be tone, geometry, era or mood. As long as each element speaks the same language, the result feels intentional rather than chaotic.
Wallpaper is an incredible way to set that foundation. It immediately creates a moment for other textures to play off. Do not shy away from contrast. Just make sure there is something tying the whole story together.

How did you land on the Tropical Dream - Moorea print to anchor the space?
Jonathon & Leah: We kept coming back to the area’s history. When this home was built, the suburb was known for its gardens and riverfront picnicking spots. We loved the idea of bringing that sense of lushness and romance into the interior.
Moorea had exactly the warmth and softness we wanted. It has enough presence to sit comfortably alongside the period detailing, while still feeling gentle and welcoming. It tied the botanical inspired narrative together in a very natural way.

What was your experience like with Eurowalls and why did you choose us for this project?
Jonathon & Leah: Eurowalls was easy from start to finish. The sample sizes were generous, which made visualising the patterns much simpler. The range was strong and ordering was straightforward. We also appreciated how many of the patterns relate to each other.
That sense of continuity allowed us to push the design across multiple rooms without anything feeling too matchy. It kept the home cohesive while giving us the freedom to be creative.

The final result is a home that brings heritage charm into the present. Warm, layered and connected to its surroundings. A renovation that honours the past while embracing the personality of today.
